Discovery Foundation

The Discovery Foundation strives to improve South Africa’s health by awarding bursaries to doctors who are appropriately specialised and who are based in disadvantaged areas. The annual Discovery Foundation Book pays tribute to the winners.

In the 2015 edition of the book, the information was presented in the style of a typical Fine Art photographic book – a theme which had been successfully applied in previous years. But it had a critical change. Previously, the bursary-winning doctors had been presented as the heroes of the book. In 2015, the focus was switched to the patients (and affected persons) who became the new focal point.
